Stay up to date with food recalls
Immune system changes during pregnancy place both the woman and her unborn child at increased risk of foodborne illnesses. Children under five are also at an increased risk for foodborne illnesses and related health complications since their immune system is still developing.
Keep your WIC participants safe by alerting them to any relevant recent food recalls, and by providing information on general food safety as well as information specific for children and pregnant and breastfeeding women.
