National Dental Hygiene Month is celebrated each year in October. The event is sponsored by the American Dental Hygienists' Association and Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company. The goal is to raise public awareness for good oral health. The focus of National Dental Hygiene Month is on the four components of oral maintenance, which include, brushing teeth twice a day, flossing once a day, using mouthwash, and chewing sugar-free gum.
