The USDA, Food and Nutrition Service awarded a cooperative agreement grant to the University of Nevada, Reno to provide technical support to WIC State Agencies/Indian Tribal Organizations selected to implement and evaluate the WIC Breastfeeding Support Learn Together. Grow Together. social marketing campaign. The overarching goal of the updated breastfeeding campaign is to increase the knowledge of and to promote behavior change about breastfeeding among WIC participants, their family and friends and WIC staff. UNR’s request for proposals resulted in the selection of 7 WIC State agencies/ITOs representing each of the FNS geographical regions to implement and evaluate the Breastfeeding Campaign. The SA/ITO grant activities begin summer 2020 and will conclude in fall 2021. The 7 awardees are:
- Chickasaw WIC Program (Southwest Region)
- Georgia WIC Program (Southeast Region)
- Massachusetts WIC Program (Northeast Region)
- Nevada WIC Program (Western Region)
- Pennsylvania WIC Program (Mid-Atlantic Region)
- Wisconsin WIC Program (Mid-Western Region)
- Wyoming WIC Program (Mountain Plains Region)
