Using Cannabis, Including CBD, THC and Marijuana, When Pregnant or Breastfeeding

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) strongly advises against the use of cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and marijuana in any form during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

The agency published a consumer update on its website that addresses many of the questions moms may have about the use of cannabis or cannabis-derived products. FDA also provides Questions and Answers for a number of topics as they relate to cannabis, including cannabis use among children and pregnant/lactating women (see questions 20-23, at the bottom of the page).
