To celebrate 25 years of the WIC Works Resource System throughout 2025, we are sharing tips and tricks for getting the most out of WIC Works.

1. Print Function
WIC Works offers a selection of printable resources to support your work with participants. You'll find the print options on series like What Do I Do With My…, infographics, and recipes. To print simply click the print function at the top of select pages and make selections for your printer.
2. Quizzes
WIC Works provides a selection of interactive quizzes that help assess WIC Professionals’ knowledge on key topics commonly covered during counseling, nutrition education, and referrals. Take advantage of these interactive tools to strengthen your expertise and be sure to share with your colleagues!
3. WIC Picks

4. What Do I Do With and What Do I Do With My
What Do I Do With and What Do I Do With My are two series on WIC Works, filled with tips, ideas, and recipes—but with a key difference!
- What Do I Do With (WDIDW) is designed for WIC staff, offering tools and ideas to help support participants in using their WIC food packages.
- What Do I Do With My (WDIDWM) is created for WIC participants. It’s a shorter version, and usually printable in about a page. WIC staff can share this version with participants to take home.
5. Feedback Button
Use the blue "Feedback" button at the bottom of your WIC Works screen to provide feedback about the WIC Works Resource System website. You can suggest content you'd like to see, provide insight about the site, tell us what you love, provide constructive feedback, and more!
6. Image Gallery
There are a variety of images that can be downloaded and used in education and outreach messages. Check out the WIC Works Image Gallery page where you can find image galleries from MyPlate, the Farmers' Market Nutrition Program, and more, plus the WIC Works and WIC Breastfeeding Support Image Gallery.
7. Publication Ordering
WIC State and local agencies in the United States and its territories can order free publications from the USDA Food and Nutrition Service! Visit Publication Ordering to browse a wide selection of educational resources, infographics, and more.
8. WIC Infant Formula Calculator
WIC Infant Formula Calculator has been updated to support the 2024 WIC Food Package Final Rule. This calculator can help WIC staff determine infant formula issuance amounts consistent with WIC regulations.
9. Meals of the Month
Looking for meal ideas? WIC Meals of the Month is a place to find recipes that highlight key nutrients and make the most of WIC foods. Check the collection.
10. Topic Pages
Topic pages make it easier to find info on related topics. You can find topic pages for Meals of the Month, VENA, WIC Food Packages, and more!

The Value Enhanced Nutrition Assessment (VENA) is a participant-centered, health outcome-based approach to a WIC nutrition assessment. On the topic page you can find the VENA guidance, VENA training resources, and videos.

A collection of nutrient infographics highlight the importance of 6 key nutrients and demonstrate how participants can get them from WIC foods.

The WIC Substance Use Prevention Guide helps WIC staff integrate substance use prevention education and referrals into clinic activities. It includes tools and links to participant resources—save it to your desktop for quick access.

Coming back soon! WLOL offers a series of free online courses and other learning opportunities designed to train all levels of WIC staff and professionals who work with the WIC population. These courses are custom-made and developed specifically for WIC staff.

Learn about some of the nutrients important to WIC participants in the Eye on Nutrition series. You’ll find a collection of resources that focus on nutrients such as folate, iron, and choline, among others.

Explore the WIC Infant Nutrition and Feeding Guide, designed to support WIC staff in providing evidence-based education for families with infants. Use it to support participants with feeding practices, development, and food safety from birth through the first year.
25. WIC Breastfeeding Award of Excellence
Each October, USDA Food and Nutrition Service opens applications for the WIC Breastfeeding Award of Excellence. The award recognizes local WIC agencies that have provided exemplary breastfeeding promotion and support activities. Local WIC agencies that meet the program’s requirements are encouraged to apply.
