WIC2Five: Using Mobile Health Education Messaging to Support Program Program Retention

2014 WIC Special Project Mini-Grant

This project aimed to increase retention through weekly automated text messages.  WIC2Five was designed to enhance quality nutrition services, increase participant satisfaction, and improve child retention by:

  • Strengthening our connection with families by keeping in frequent contact with them.
  • Engaging parents / caregivers more fully by providing them with nutrition and health information of value, and inviting them to take action on this information.
  • Using parent's preferred communication channel - text messaging.

Visit the USDA FNS Special Project Grants page for more information about the WIC2Five: Using Mobile Health Education Messaging to Support Program Retention grant.
