WIC Works' 20th Anniversary Wrap Up

2020 marked the WIC Works Resource System's (which we lovingly refer to as WIC Works) 20th anniversary. In a message last January recognizing this milestone, we acknowledged WIC's most important resource – you.

Two months later, the coronavirus began to affect WIC operations. The pandemic also shined a light on just how important of a resource you are. Your dedication and commitment was made clear as WIC staff at every level adopted and continually adapted new ways of ensuring the quality nutrition services that participants appreciate – from curbside consults to virtual visits (check out highlights from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions).

While COVID-19 is still affecting WIC operations, and the nation as a whole, we wanted to take a moment to thank you for all your efforts. WIC Works is proud to provide you with online resources - more important now than ever before - to support the critical work you perform every day.

We'd also like to thank you for celebrating our 20th anniversary with us. Throughout the year, we featured your comments and highlighted various ways WIC staff use WIC Works. We appreciate all the feedback you've sent us over the years, so please keep your comments coming! You can send us your stories, compliments, suggestions, and other input via wicworks@usda.gov.

With social distancing still serving as an important step in slowing the spread of COVID-19, WIC Works and WIC Breastfeeding Support are here to support virtual nutrition education by providing staff the ability to download and email, or direct participants to resources.

These sites also support administrative and learning efforts with online learning and training, free publication ordering, breastfeeding reassurance tips, infant food and formula calculators and tailoring tools.
