Reduce the Risk of SIDS & Suffocation

Keep sleeping babies safe

This article (also available in Spanish) is one of many American Academy of Pediatrics' resources on sleep and helps parents and anyone else who cares for babies create a safe sleep environment for an infant to reduce the risk of SIDS and suffocation. It covers recommendations for infant sleep,  what expectant moms can do, and reminders for sleepy parents.

WIC Works features a number of other resources on safe sleep, including Reducing the Risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and the Safe to Sleep® campaign that offers an interactive tool, fact sheets, videos, infographics, and downloadable media to promote safe sleep environments for baby.
