WIC State Agencies are invited to apply for this opportunity to expand breastfeeding support messaging and programs at the State or Tribal WIC level. The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), in a cooperative agreement with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), is currently requesting proposals for WIC State agencies to implement the new WIC Breastfeeding Support “Learn Together. Grow Together” campaign (hereafter referred to as the Campaign).
Through the cooperative agreement, UNR will be funding, supporting, and assisting in evaluation for up to 8 WIC State agencies to implement and evaluate the Campaign, with the goal of improving breastfeeding initiation and duration among WIC mothers, as well as increasing awareness and utilization of WIC services, including nutrition, counseling, and the new peer support Buddy Program. This program is open only to the 89 WIC State agencies and Tribal organizations that operate a WIC program.
More information on program details, requirements, and application information is available in the Request for Proposal (RFP), which can be downloaded directly from UNR.
