USDA Proposes Updates to Foods Provided Through WIC
USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service announced proposed changes to the foods prescribed to WIC participants. These science-based revisions incorporate recommendations from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025.
The WIC Breastfeeding Data Local Agency Report for fiscal year 2021 is now available to view. This report is a compilation of breastfeeding performance measurements based on program participation data of the number of breastfed infants for each WIC State and local agency.
Whether a WIC participant is learning about breastfeeding, starting to breastfeed, overcoming challenges, or thriving, WIC Breastfeeding Support has the information, resources and support to help participants meet their breastfeeding goals. It also contains many downloadable resources for WIC State and local agencies to share with participants and external partners.
White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health
On September 28, the Biden-Harris Administration hosted the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health. In addition, the Administration announced a National Strategy to catalyze the public and private sectors to address the intersections between food, hunger, nutrition, and health.
